In depth and easy

When looking for an error (that has value) you must be able to determine what kind of error it is in the first place. I just started accumulating what was being sold at auction on E bay that claimed were errors or varieties. Take doubling, as in "Doubled Dies" not Double Dies which indicates a lack of understanding. Until I read the sample of this book, I purchased Two coins that were what is known as "Mechanical Doubling" not collectible, unless just to compare. Had they been of high value, I'd be stuck with coins that were not what they appeared to be and worthless. Fortunately they were not the popular types with high prices. This book shows you with photos where to look, what to look for, the value at the time of printing which helps to understand how coins values increase and decrease according to the market and supply and demand. Overall this is a book that before you start buying coins that bare the attribution of error or variety you should own.
I am a man who doesn't always read instructions being in my late forties and having put many things together successfully. That being the case, this book put me back to looking before leaping mode. And has paid for itself and more.

You really can "strike it rich with pocket change" if you read and follow the advice of this book

This is my second purchase of this book ( I bought the previous version). It is so essential for the relative newcomer to the study and enjoyment of coin collecting that I recommend this book as a "first purchase" for all of my numismatic students.
The neat thing about this book is it provides a wealth (no pun intended) of information and only deals with circulating coinage. One of the first coins that I found was a 2004-D Roosevelt dime with a doubled ear. I saw the coin, realized that it was different, and when I looked it up in this book, there it was!

Reluctant on purchasing this simply because of its' title.

On the title... FYI, coin hunting is hard work and getting rich off of it would be like hitting the lottery. Possible, yes, highly unlikely though. But, this is a great hobby, one which the whole family can enjoy together. It takes hard work with long eye straining hours to find a nice several-dollar worth coin. That being said this book has a wealth of great information including tons of great black-and-white close-up photos and details on how to tell the difference from one coin which is a low-value 'error' coin and one which is TRULY collectable! I have found several very nice finds directly because of this book. I highly recommend this to everyone interested in coin collecting whether you are a long-time collector or someone just starting out. If you are new, get two good magnifying eye loops, a 10x and 14x, this will really help in your coin-error hunting. I am extremely happy I made this purchase!

While the synopsis on Amazon presents this as a book for product designers, The User’s Journey actually takes an approach to teaching its methods that’s not as esoteric as one might think. In fact, The User’s Journey can be applied to a much broader audience. Whether you’re a writer, a business owner, a designer, a consultant, a strategist, a teacher, or just someone who has to make a presentation, there are many different ways of applying what Lichaw has to share in her book.

You may have the most ingenious idea, the best research, the best service, or the best product, but without presenting a strong narrative and a story people can remember and relate to, your efforts may be overlooked.

Actionable Approach to Using Story for Product Strategy

I've read a LOT of books on Story, and while they are great for writing books or giving presentations, they never made sense for designing great products. This book changed that.
Lichaw explains story succinctly and clearly, then shows how to use it to build the right product and make the users the hero of her own story.

A valuable framework - highly recommended

I work with companies to help them define their message, and I've already found this book to be a valuable tool. Donna explains how to use the simple, yet powerful structure of a story to identify what is compelling about a product or service or company - and why it matters to people.

The simplicity of the method is key - you don't have to have special software or advanced design skills or anything of that sort to start using it right away. If you can draw a line, you're good to go.

It's a great resource for people who work in communications, product design, and/or user experience. You'll get a smart, flexible framework that makes it well worth the purchase.

It suggests that the new student identity that begins to emerge as a result of these processes provides a self-fulfilling prophesy of expectation and belief, which defines how students see themselves as learners and achievers. Through these practices, schooling becomes a crucial factor in the social construction of academic success.

The author's final conclusion is inescapable: unequal achievement in school is largely a social construction. But it is a social construction facilitated both by student attributes including gender, race, and class and by the educational structures and policies some schools employ. Because of this undeniable fact, parents, educational practitioners, and policy makers must continue to investigate social policies and practices relative to student abilities and make every effort to understand how they may be related to achievement. Informed by research, they must endeavor to see this power inherent in schooling and the need to effect change.

Another Winner for RayYao

Gee, Ray. Just when I think I've bought all the books of yours I can use, you bring out another one! True to form, Ray delivers practical, easy-to-understand lessons (in this case, AngularJS) that even green as grass newbies like me can cope with. I think I said it before in a previous review, but if Ray can keep producing these simple, reasonably-priced tutorials, I guess I'll keep buying them.

Terrific for Instruction at the Ground Level

Depending on where you're coming from and what you are looking to do with Angular --- the time it takes to get familiar with the language varies. The basic nuts & bolts are relatively easy to learn, but the framework contains what amounts to a Lot of concepts...so how far you go with it could take a while. BUT, for my purposes --novice level-- I needed an experienced Angular programmer there to walk me thru. And Mr. Yao does just that-

His text he present here is not too long for entry-level programmers, nor is it too short. I found it to be middle-of-the-road Just Right for my speed and ability. It's laid out with the Chapters broken down into the major 'food groups' -- thus, easy-peasy. And there is a very nice, abundant Appendices, too boot!

I've learned that one doesn't need to really learn Javascript in addition, and that frankly would have just compounded the task at hand. But Angular exists in its own kind of sphere, so that was a relief as I'm not too terribly conversant in that Lang.. All in all I'm quite pleased with the purchase & I thank the author for his help

Solid Beginner's Guide! Highly Recommended!

AjgularJS has been on my "things to learn" list for quite some time now and I have been searching for a solid guide to help me get my foot through the door. I decided to go with this guide written by Ray Yao and it has been nothing but outstanding thus far. The steps that are provided are very easy to follow and well organized. There was never a point where I was confused or needing to look elsewhere for solutions. This was one of the best choices I have made in terms of a self-guide for anything that I had wanted to learn. Thank you, Raymond!

About the Author
Ralph Stair received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, an M.B.A. from Tulane University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. He has taught at the University of Oregon, the University of Washington, the University of New Orleans, and Florida State University. He has taught several courses through Florida State University's Study Abroad Program in London. Throughout the years, Dr. Stair has focused his teaching and research on information systems. He has endowed the Ralph Stair Prize in Innovative Education at Florida State University. He also provided funding for the Stair-Harkrider scholarship and the Ralph Stair Prize in Academic Improvement at his high school in Wisconsin.

Professor George Reynolds brings a wealth of business, teaching, and writing experience to this book. His successful business career spans four decades of working in government, institutional, and business IS organizations. Professor Reynolds combines this business and industry experience with exceptional teaching skills to deliver a text that is both practical and focused on the needs of today's student. The kindle version of this book is broken. I REPEAT.. DO NOT GET THE KINDLE VERSION OF THE BOOK. Another reviewer pointed this out but I made the mistake of not reading the reviews and here I am now. 5 days behind in my class praying my physical copy arrives on time.

Now I have to pay for the full version of the book instead of renting it.

Amazon is blaming this on the publisher. It is a bunch of BS though. AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I GOT WITH REGARD TO THIS WAS COMPLETE S***. AMAZON IS ON THE WAY DOWN IF THIS IS HOW THEY ARE GOING TO START TREATING CUSTOMERS.

If you are taking this class online you DON'T NEED THE BOOK!!! Seriously, save your money and use google or bing. This is a good but generic book, everything is online.

About the Author
Karen K. Kirst-Ashman, BSW, MSSW, and PhD, was a full professor and a former chairperson in the Social Work Department at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she taught for 28 years. She is certified as a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Wisconsin and has worked as a practitioner and administrator in child welfare and mental health agencies. She received the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Excellence in Teaching Award in 1986 and its Outstanding Teaching Award in 2007. She has been a member of the board of directors of the Council on Social Work Education in addition to being an accreditation site visitor, and is a current member of BPD and NASW. She has served on the editorial board of Affilia: Journal of Women and Social Work, and as a consulting editor for many social work journals, including the Journal of Social Work Education. She is the author of numerous publications, articles, and reviews concerning social work and women's issues. Other books she has authored or coauthored include INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL WORK AND SOCIAL WELFARE: CRITICAL THINKING PERSPECTIVES (5th ed); HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN THE MACRO SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT: AN EMPOWERMENT APPROACH TO UNDERSTANDING COMMUNITIES, ORGANIZATION, AND GROUPS (4th ed); GENERALIST PRACTICE WITH ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITIES (5th ed); THE MACRO SKILLS WORKBOOK (2nd ed); and UNDERSTANDING GENERALIST PRACTICE (8th ed).

Grafton H. Hull, Jr. (BS, MSW, PhD) has taught at Fort Knox Community College, Morningside College, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Missouri State University, Indiana University Northwest, and, most recently, the University of Utah. He has been a faculty member, department chair, program director, director of a school of social work, and Special Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Accreditation. Among other professional activities, he has served on the CSWE Board of Directors, Commission on Accreditation, Nominations Committee, and as a President of the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD). Dr. Hull has been a consultant to over 50 social work programs in the U.S. and Canada and a member of the editorial board or consulting editor for several journals. He is the co-author of seven texts and numerous articles in social work journals. Hull's honors include the Mary Shields McPhee Memorial Award for Faculty Excellence in Research (Utah), Significant Lifetime Achievement Award (BPD), Social Work Educator of the Year (Wisconsin CSWE), and President's Medal of Honor (BPD). His biography is listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA and WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD.
