Best UMTS book yet

I've been to a few training courses presented by Chris Johnson. This book provides a good reflection of his knowledge and clear presentation style. I like the way that a lot of the descriptions are based upon following the flow of data through the protocol stack. There are some good examples of what happens to the speech and data service bits as they are passed between layers. I like the tables which illustrate how the number of bits change during each phase of physical layer processing. This is shown for DCH as well as HSDPA and HSUPA connections. Some parts of the radio network planning sections are similar to those found in other books but there are sections which do not appear elsewhere, e.g. analysis of maximum neighbour list lengths. Link budgets are also presented and described in depth.

A Must Have UMTS book

Book has clear explanations on topics it deals with. Especially, the summary parts at the beginning of each chapter are very useful to revise and remember the topics covered in a short way.

I found the log files in "Signalling Procedures" section very useful. Also the flow charts are clear and helps you to understand the theory.

I use this book as a reference book on topics I would like to cover as well as a reading book for free times since no in depth mathematical concepts are dealed in it.

Raido Access Networks for UTMS is a must have book for people in telecommunications field who wants to have a good theoretical knowledge on their topic.

I really liked this product. I was recommended this book and could not be happier. I used becker but I was in need of different questions to supplement my studies. These questions were different and gave you a different style of thinking of the question.

Good for revision

I used this BEC course. The questions are easier than real exam questions. So expect more difficult questions in the exam. However this is a very good course to review. It covers all the areas and their answers help to revise the theory very efficiently. I highly recommend this for your last week's revision.

Great questions and easy to understand. I used this book to complement the Becker BEC book. The questions were formatted in a similar manner. I highly recommend buying this as additional source material. I plan on purchasing the other 3 books as well.

The Magic Shop Series is a wonderful choice for an easy read for children in Grades 1-5. The books are exciting, clearly written, with advice, on how to succeed in school, subtly interwoven in the stories. The magic tricks interspersed throughout each story only add to the interest, both for budding magicians and non magicians alike. The step by step directions on each magic trick are easy to follow and, what fun, reveal how and why a trick works, evidence that Magician Mike Lane knows his subject!

These would be wonderful additions to a public and school library, or great gifts from parents and grandparents.

Great Story and Awesome Magic Tricks

Guess what book we saw at our local library and had to check out immediately: The Great Escape! The third book in the Magic Shop Series continues the adventures of fourth grader Mike Weiss. Mike is an average fourth grader who is doing something extraordinary - he's learning the secrets of magic all while unraveling the mystery about Houdini from the previous book, The Twisting Arm. My kid who is into magic really got into this book. The story is interesting, the characters are likable, and the best part - there are magic tricks peppered throughout the story which pertain to the main story line. For the curious, the tricks noted in the book are In My Mind's Eye, Rising from the Deck, Cool Coins, and The Great Escape! All the tricks included can be done with household items (decks of cards, coins, rope, etc).

With and engaging story, likable characters, and plenty of cool magic tricks, this would be a great book for any young reader who is interested in magic.

Number One gift from Santa

Our three year old blew past almost all of his other Christmas gifts to get to this one. Since that day it has accompanied him around the house almost everywhere. It is very easy to understand and has loads of photos diagrams with the Little Einsteins characters on every page. It is a rather large book which is fun for sitting down on the floor and exploring. It reminds me very much of the Roger Priddy books but with a more dynamic picture set up and familiar Little Einstein friends to explain it all. Worthwhile book friend for any Little Einstein fan.
