My husband borrowed this book from a coworker and my dad read a bit of it while visiting us and he enjoyed what he read so we got it for him for his birthday. He has read about a third of it now and really likes it. My husband also enjoyed the book.

Estimation made easy (and practical)

Very good introduction to what I will call "practical estimation for the non-statistician." It is perhaps a bit wordy and self-promoting, but generally quite informative.

Practical utility and clear exposition

An important aspect of making decisions is how we assign values to choices. Hubbard does a good job of showing the process of valuation and collecting the data.
An interesting aspect of his work discusses estimation. Since we may not always have access to real data we should be able to estimate. Some people are very good estimators -- they practice. Hubbard has some example exercises showing how you can practice. This set of exercises alone is worth the price.
The book is also an easy read.
I do use it as a reference.
